Bulbophyllum mirum

Bulbophyllum is a miniature Bulbophyllum with wonderfully crazy little flowers. The species is native Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand where is is found in wet forests from 1000 to 1600m. Plants are pendulous and we find does very well mounted. The bulbs and leaves are very attractive even without the flowers as the leaves have a grey-blue sheen. Flowers appear from old and new pseudobulbs giving a wonderful display over a long period. 

In cultivation we find that plants do best indoors in our IKEA cabi8nets with a minimum temperature of 17C although the native range suggests that plants would be happy cooler. we spray plants every day and find that they like to be kept on the damp side compared to some bulbophyllums.
