Phalaenopsis hieroglyphica

Phalaenopsis heiroglyphica is a wondeerfully named species endemic to hot lowland forest in the Philippines with large glossy flowewrs with intricate pink markings (not really much like Egyptian hieroglyphics) on a creamy ground.

The species was once included in Phalaenopsis lueddemanniana but is very distinct with larger flowers and a lovely habit of opening lots of flowers at the same time. 

The species is very floriferous and you can see that our relatively young plant has four flower spikes already. These flower spikes will flower again along with newer ones in the future.

Like all of our Phalaenopsis species we grow Phalaenopsis hieroglyphica indoors in our Ikea cases with supplementary lighting and a minimum of 17C.
